RUPES LHR75E Mini Review: The BigFoot You'll Use Most
Our Verdict
A 3-inch random orbital with a real 12 mm throw and the same Italian build as the full-size BigFoots, it corrects the parts of a car nothing else reaches: mirror caps, pillars, handles, spoilers, bumper curves. Many detailers log more hours on it than on their main polisher. It is the cheapest way into the RUPES ecosystem and the hardest one to give up.
Every car has square feet of paint a 5-inch polisher can't work: the curved lower bumper, the mirror housings, the pillars, the area between a door handle and the door edge, the spoiler, the fuel door. Most people either polish those by hand or skip them. The LHR75E Mini is a proper BigFoot — soft start, electronic speed control, 400 W motor, made in Italy — shrunk to a 75 mm backing plate with a 12 mm orbit, and it makes those areas as easy as a hood.
Correction ability
The 12 mm throw is the reason it works. Most mini polishers are 3 mm or rotary; the LHR75E moves a 3-inch pad far enough per rotation to actually cut. With a 3-inch microfiber pad and Ultimate Compound it removes real defects, and with a 3-inch finishing pad it jewels. Owners restore headlights, correct motorcycle tanks and polish entire small cars with it when they're patient.
In use
At about six pounds it's genuinely one-handed, which matters when you're working a pillar at shoulder height. Vibration is low, the trigger is progressive, and the front cover is rubber-lined so you can steady it with a fingertip. It's corded; the iBrid battery version exists and costs roughly double, and the cord is rarely the problem on the tight areas this machine is for.
Where it stops
Area. A hood takes forever, and 3-inch pads load up and wear fast because so little foam is doing so much work. Buy pads in quantity. This is the machine that finishes the job a LHR15 or TORQX started; it is not the machine that starts it.
